I'm super excited about this weekend! Jonny and I are going to go to a spring festival down by the beach. There's going to be lots of fun handmade things to buy, delicious food to eat and an Elvis impersonator, lol! I'm afraid I can't resist a free Elvis impersonator concert, nope never! I hope ya'll have a wonderful weekend too!

Here is the dress I made! It's quite simple really, which is just what I wanted. I have found that is really tough to find solid colored vintage sun dresses. So, I bought myself a pattern from 1960 and did it myself! I am really happy with how it turned out and I'm already making a new one, with some extra touches here and there. The belt is a gift from Meaghan and I just think it's perfect for this dress! Thank you Meaghan!!!

Some of you were wondering where my dress was from in my last post. I bought it on Ebay and it was made in Hawaii back in the 1950s. It's one of my favorite dresses, so it probably won't be too long before you see it again!

On another note...I'm sure most have you have heard about the terrible flooding in Nashville and other parts of Tennessee. What has happened is just so sad! Nashville is my soon to be hometown so I want to help in anyway I can. Kristin over at Leproust Vintage is holding an auction with 100% of the proceeds going to Nashville Disaster Response Fund for the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. Mini Golfing Family Date

Last night Jonny and I took our niece Remy out on a dinner date then to play mini golf. The mini golf we went to was themed Hawaiian style, perfect! There was lots of fun things to see. Including a large shark that Jonny had to save Remy from, lol! Remy beat both Jonny and I by a landslide! We had such a blast with our pretty little niece. Love you Remy girl!

With spring finally upon us I thought it was again time to share with you some of the bloggers who have been inspiring me with their warm weather fashions. Vintage sun dresses and sandals are all I need to make me happy this spring! How about you? What are you inspired by this spring?

Well, I'm off to enjoy a lazy day and soak in this extra warm weather we're having! Tonight Jonny and I are taking our nine year old niece out to dinner and then for a walk on the boardwalk. I think she's the sweetest, prettiest girl there is! I'll try to take pictures! Talk soon! :o)

Tattered and Torn Beauty

I bought this pretty little dress off Ebay not long ago. Even though I knew that it needed work and had quite a bit of fading I couldn't resist it! It's from the late 1930's to early 1940's. I'm thinking it's homemade, due to the fact that it has no side zipper or buttons. I gotta tell ya this dress is not easy to put on at all because of that! Once it's on though it fits me perfectly! I have yet to clean it because I'm so afraid it'll shrink...so off to the dry cleaners it must go. I just had to share it with you first!

1950s Dress: Retro Glamour

My dress was made in Hawaii that is. I think there is something magical about wearing a dress that was made in Hawaii so many years ago! I only wish I could see who wore it before me. Was it a woman on her honeymoon or a girl on vacation with her family or maybe a surfing girl with her boy Moondoggie....

I guess I'll never know. What I do know is that even if I haven't been to Hawaii yet, at least my dress has! Hehe! :O)
