Back To School, 1950's Style

Happy weekend everyone! I'm guest blogging over at Starr's blog A Thought Is The Blossom while she's at New York Fashion Week! I'm super excited Starr asked me to be a part of her blog, so check it out! Talk to you lovelies soon! :o)

Vintage Couture Heaven

Yesterday (Wednesday) Fab and I went to see The Golden Age of Couture exhibit in downtown Nashville! Unfortunately they don't allow you to take pictures of all of the amazing clothing, which made both Fab and I very sad...but I just couldn't do a post without showing you my favorite dress of all! So I searched the web and here she is, my most perfect dress ever....

Photo found here

It is Antonio del Castillo for Lanvin Castillo from 1957. Gahhh, isn't it a dream!?
Anyway, we managed to take some pictures outside the museum. The pretty building in the back is an old train station!

The rest or our day was filled with a wonderful lunch consisting of sandwiches and the best carrot soup ever! Then some vintage shop browsing, including Closet Case Vintage, where we visited Carmen. There were so many things I wish I could have taken home!!! Certainly a wonderful Wednesday at that! :O)

Orange Dream Dress & A Weekend Recap

Belt and Shoes: Thrifted

When my friend and sponsor Maria asked me if I would like to model some of the dresses from her lovely Etsy shop Adelaide's Homesewn I of course said yes! Receiving a box of vintage goodies from Maria's shop was quite the treat. The dress I'm wearing here just happened to be my favorite so of course I had to take pictures in it first! It actually has quite the interesting story that you can read here on Maria's blog. If you're interested this gorgeous dress is for sale here! Many more dresses modeled my little old be to come. Oh, and I'm not the only lucky lady that gets to wear Maria's pretty vintage, Lauren will be modeling some too!

I hope you all have had a nice holiday weekend! Jonny and I have had a blast! Saturday night we had our first real night on the town in downtown Nashville with Carmen and her friend Jonathan. We did everything from look at fine art, dance at a honky tonk, have drinks at a super fancy hotel, sneak into the mens bathroom to look at it's original art deco decor and go to the 28th floor of a different hotel to get a 360 degree view of Nashville! That's not even it, but I'll stop there, lol! Today the hubby and I went for a long bike ride and stopped at out favorite coffee shop. Such a fun filled awesome weekend! Talk to you lovelies soon! :o)

A Night At The Ryman With She & Him

Wednesday night Jonny and I went to our first show at the Ryman Auditorium to see She & Him! I knew that I was going to enjoy myself but I had no idea how much. After getting over the shock of seeing Zooey right in front of me I was in awe at how awesome She & Him is live! Zooey is like a living doll with a voice that's just as sweet. Her dress was perfect and she couldn't have been cuter the way she hopped about the stage. Oh and lets not forget M Ward, the guy is amazing! Everything about the show was fabulous! These pictures are some that I found here taken by Steve Cross. We did take some of our own, but they're not nearly as great as these. There were camera Nazi's everywhere making sure people weren't taking pics, lol!

You could tell how excited Zooey was to be playing at the Ryman. My favorite part of the show had to be when Zooey and Matt came out for an encore to sing two songs, but that was only the beginning! Just as we were starting to leave Zooey and Matt came out again and preformed I Put A Spell On You. For that Jonny and I ran up to the stage and got to see it all up close! You can see it all in the video below...which again isn't mine, lol! Jonny and I were actually much closer and too mesmerized to worry about recording. It's a must watch you guys! Enjoy :o)
