Green...

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! We finally put up our Christmas tree and I'm so happy with it! After all that holiday spirit I couldn't help but wear this green dress today. It makes me feel a bit like a Christmas tree, which I rather like. :o)

She's In the Navy Now

Yes, I'm wearing pants! I'm surprised I haven't shown you these pants yet! I've had them for years and they're the only pants I truly feel comfy in. They're authentic navy pants from the 40s. I love um! The handsome couple is my Grandpa and Grandma from my Moms side. I never got to meet them because they both died before I was born. Though, my Mom tells me I'm just like her Mama! The picture was taken back in the 1940s right after they got married. Soon after my Grandpa went to fight in WW2. He was a pilot, not a sailor, but it seemed like a fitting place to take these pictures anyway. They had quite the love story. A truly happy in love couple.

Some New Things...

Here are some recent finds that I can't bare to part with...
*First is a vintage grandpa cardigan with the most wonder silver buttons. So cozy!
*My favorite is the dreamiest 1940s dress. It was meant for the shop, but after trying it on I knew it had to be mine.
*Third is a pair of woven oxfords. I've been looking for a pair like this forever, but all the ones I came across were too small. These were just right. Yay!
*Forth is a great square 1950s purse. It almost looks like a camera case, no?!

I'm off to do a small Etsy shop update! I'll be listing a couple of 1950s dresses and a great pair of ankle boots.
Well, that's all for now. Talk soon darlings! :o)

Looking Up

You're never too old to climb trees...

Dress: Austrian Vintage
Boots: Urban Outfitters, forever ago

Above the Boardwalk

As I'm sure you all know by now, I'm completely crazy about anything sailor inspired. I got this dress by doing my first ever vintage trade. The lovely gal I traded with is Maria with a wonderful shop on etsy, Adelaide Homesewn. Maria and I both traded sailor inspired dresses. What's so great about this dress, is that it first belonged to Maria's Moms! I love knowing the history behind vintage clothes. Maria doesn't have a blog, yet anyway. She really should because she's just a doll! So, go check out her shop and you're bound to fall in love with something! Thanks Marie, and Maria's Mom!

I hope everyone is having a nice weekend! It's cold and rainy here, so I plan on cuddling up by the fire and watching a good film!

Oh, and I'm having a 20% off sale in my shop all this weekend!

A Wonderful Surprise

Yesterday morning on my daily trip to the post office, I was completely surprised to find a package waiting for me. I saw who it was from and started shaking with excitment! Then came the happy tears, haha. It was a lovely 1940s dress, just my size! It was from Lauren of Dear Golden Vintage. A little while back Lauren came across a large lot of dresses from the 30s and 40s that belonged to three sisters. So, if you're looking for the perfect 30s/40s dress check out Lauren's beautiful shop where she'll be listing all those gems! Heck, check out her shop anyway because it's the best! :o)

Thanks so much Lauren! I love it!

Light Through the Trees

Ever since these photos came out of Scarlett Johansson, I've been quite smitten. It's been close to two years now since I first discovered these pretty pics, which Scarlett did for her album Anywhere I Lay My Head. I guess it's the magical lighting and the lovely vintage dresses that have kept me hooked! Maybe you'll find some inspiration too!

Also, I'd like to give you all a big thank you for all of the wonderful comments you left on my last post! You have no idea how much all of your comments mean to me! :o)
