My Perfect Day With Jessie of Strawberry Moth

This past Tuesday I spent the most perfect day with Jessie of Strawberry Moth! On her way from Georgia to Ohio Jessie stopped here in Nashville to spend time with me. I'm thrilled Jessie decided to make the detour because we had the most wonderful time wandering around together! Jessie and I were like two peas in a pod. Here are some of our adventures from the day...

Some park strolling and picture taking. It's Jessie a doll!?

Popsicle eating and Farmers Marker gazing...

What a pretty girl!

Then on to some sushi eating!

All pictures taken with Jessie's amazing camera

The day also including vintage browsing, Bettie Page reading, dog cuddling and 1940's music love sharing! It really was a perfect day. I miss Jessie already and I'm planning a trip to visit her super soon in Savannah! Love ya girl!
Oh, and if you haven't visit Jessie's blog, what are you waiting for!! ;o)

Inspiration Friday, Claire McCardell

Why Hello! It seems that this past week I took an unexpected blog break! Things just got a little busy around here. I did some impromptu house/dog sitting, which was wonderful! I was in a dream house (original vintage bathroom included!) taking care of two adorable dogs and one lovely cat. The weather has been perfect, so I've been spending lots of my time outdoors and reading on porches. One of the books I read was
American Fashion, The Life & Times of Adrian, Mainbocher, McCardell, Norell and Trigere. Claire McCardell captured my heart with her gorgeous simplicity. Just what I've been wanting to wear lately.

All pictures captured by me from the book American Fashion

If I ever have a little girl I'm so dressing her like the little the cuties above!
Also, this past week I met a wonderful new friend. Pictures of our day together soon! xo

Inspiration Friday, Some More Randomness..

Hello lovelies! There is no rhyme or reason to these pictures, but I sure think they're pretty!

I hope you are all doing fabulous! Have a great weekend! xo

Lake Side Sailor Girl

Vintage scarf, Antique Mall
Playsuit, made by me
Shoes, Aldo, yearssss ago

Hello! How was everyone's weekend? Mine was lovely. Saturday was a rainy day so Jonny and I went to see Midnight in Paris. I loved it! If you haven't seen it, you must!
As you can see I went ahead and my myself another playsuit. I've worn the first one so much I couldn't resist making another! I finished this one a couple weeks ago and have been living in it. So perfect for these hot summer days.
Talk to you soon! xo

Inspiration Friday, Vintage In Color

I've come across so many pretty and colorful pictures on tumblr lately that I had to do a post with some of my favorites. The top two of Shirley Temple and Norma Jeane (Marilyn Monroe) I find particularly wonderful! Isn't crazy how they almost look like they could be sisters?!

All photos and their sources can be found on my tumblr

I hope you all have lovely weekend! xo

Hot Time Summer In The City

Blouse, thrifted and altered
1950's cotton skirt, Closet Case Vintage
Wedges, super old from BCBG

Today I met my friend Rachel for ladies lunch! Rachel's moving to San Francisco soon so it was also sort of a farewell lunch as well. Rachel's been a lovely friend since I've moved to Nashville. I'll miss her... but it's a good reason to plan a visit to the West Coast soon, hehe.
As you can probably tell from these pictures, today was super hot! Like over 100 degrees hot. I'm not complaining though... it'll be cold before we know it and I'll wish it's summer again. Talk to you soon! xo

Inspiration Friday, Carey Mulligan

There are very few modern day celebrities that I admire. Carey Mulligan is without a doubt one of them! Not only is she a wonderful actress, but I think her style is just lovely. A perfect mix of vintage and modern! Here are some of my all time favorite Carey Mulligan looks...

This dress seriously makes me weak in the knees...

Carey's Oscar dress in 2010 was perfection. This is exactly what I would want to wear to the Oscars!

Somehow she even makes black leather look super sweet.

Gorgeous.

Two of my favorite things, the color red and ruffles!

Sparkles and the perfect silhouette!

Even on her time off Carey dresses adorable! Love.

1940's style floral dresses? Yes please.

And this is Carey just a few weeks ago at Comic Con. Back to her blonde pixie, yay!
Have a lovely weekend darlings! :O)
